It's thanksgiving and stuff, but I don't celebrate that and all. The MTV Asia Awards 2005 campaign has begun and you have till January 15 to cast your votes for you favourite artistes, as MTV has unveiled more than 50 local and international nominees to be honoured at Asia’s biggest pan-regional music event. For the first time, the MTV Asia Awards will be hosted in Bangkok, and will take place on Feb 5 at the Impact Arena. MTV viewers in Asia will get to make an impact on who will emerge as winners. The excitement is expected to continue to build as performers and awards presenters will be announced in the coming weeks, culminating in one spectacular night where winners will be announced to a live audience of more than 7,000 spectators. The awards will see a total of 19 categories, 16 of which will be determined by MTV viewers’ votes. The remaining three honorary awards – the Asian Film Award, the Style Award and the Inspiration Award – will be presented by MTV Asia in recognition of key industry figures and trendsetters. On the international front, Jet and Keane lead the pack with three nominations each, evergreen pop princess Kylie Minogue and up and coming Finnish rock act The Rasmus snag two nominations each. Other nominees include Alicia Keys (for Favourite Female Act) Robbie Williams, Ashlee Simpson, Jet, Kylie Minogue, Nelly, Usher, Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears, Norah Jones, Blue, No Doubt, Outkast and others.
